Nightly rates for every size of spare room.

Rivet the jackdaw stands on a roadside motel sign at night. The rate dial's three needles rest at zero, held down by a brass nut he hung on them, and the sign reads VACANCY.

A short silent scene, about seven seconds, then Rivet idles.

Every room is free.

vacancyd is free and open source under the Apache-2.0 license. There is no paid tier, no account and no metered plan. All three rooms are the same software: a gate that lends a machine's idle GPUs, memory and CPU to borrowers only when its owner's policy and live resource checks allow it.

  • Spare Room

    $0 per night

One idle GPU, lent while you are away from it.

  • Suite

    $0 per night

Several cards and the models you have measured to fit them.

  • Penthouse

    $0 per night

Every resource vacancyd can see, still owner first.

Why it costs nothing

I build these tools with a lot of help from AI, for my own homelab first. Sharing what comes out of that freely feels like the right way to pass it along. Paid software and the people who make it are worth paying for; this is my choice for these projects.

If you want to help anyway

Support is optional and goes to ProbablyFine, the home for my free projects. It helps cover the costs of publishing them, starting with code signing. It does not buy features, priority support or a say in the roadmap.

Free ways to help are just as welcome:

  • Tell someone who has a GPU sitting idle.
  • Report a bug you can reproduce.
  • Improve the docs or send a fix.
